We at Spraoi couldn’t be more proud of our long standing Volunteer Chief Steward Rhys Wallace who won the Volunteer Ireland Award for Arts, Culture and Festivals Category at the Volunteer Ireland Awards, Well Done Rhys x
Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are a lifeforce of Spraoi International Street Arts Festival. Spraoi volunteers ensure the event runs smoothly, assist visiting artists, act as ambassadors for Waterford, and are good fun to be around. In 2023 Volunteering Ireland awarded Spraoi volunteer Rhys Wallace as Ireland’s Volunteer of The Year in the Arts Culture and Festivals Category. Well done Rhys, richly deserved.
Spraoi Volunteers are led by co-ordinator Vicky Wall. She and her leadership team have done an amazing job in creating a volunteering corps that is trained, structured and effective. Red Hat is Spraoi’s official volunteering partner. The company is a great fit for this aspect of Spraoi’s work because its values and ethos empower people to reach their full potential.
