Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris, Ireland’s leading European cultural centre, has just announced its spring artists’ residencies. Spraoi is delighted that street artist Will Flanagan is one of those selected.
Co-funded by Spraoi and CCI he will be in residency at the centre throughout April. It will afford Will an opportunity to reflect on his practice and develop new work in one of the world’s great cultural cities.
Inaugurated in 2002, the Centre Culturel Irlandais is situated in the Collège des Irlandais, or Irish College, formerly home to a large collegiate community of Irish priests, seminarians and lay scholars whose origins stretch back to 1578.
Will Flanagan is a full time performer and recording musician based in Clonakilty, Co. Cork. He holds an M.A. in Theatre & Performative Practices and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Physical Theatre. As a circus performer, he originally trained as a juggler and later studied Clown under Phillippe Gaulier and David Spathaky. He has performed at Spraoi Festival and at events and venues throughout Ireland.
