Street artists associated with Spraoi recently performed at Ciclop Festival on the Balearic island of Mallorca. One of the featured shows, On Tish, by Siolta Circus premiered at Spraoi Festival 2022 and has since toured extensively. In addition to performances by Irish artists, Spraoi Director T.V. Honan presented a profile of the Waterford company’s work to fellow Spanish festival organisers.
“It’s fantastic that Spraoi is assisting artists from all over Ireland to create new shows before they tour nationally and internationally. Spraoi is also putting Waterford on the map as a European street performance centre of excellence,” he said.
Ireland’s showcase at Ciclop Festival was organised by the Irish Street Arts, Circus, and Spectacle (ISACS) network and was funded by Culture Ireland, the Irish government agency promoting artists overseas.
