Serving Sounds

IRISH PREMIERE
Have some fun with this multi-sensory sound installation that serves bass, not beer, and that creates connection through music. You’ll find ordinary items you’d usually expect to find at a bar, like glasses, beermats, the odd bit of change. But at Serving Sounds these items when touched will create a groove, a sound, strings, a snare, maybe a guitar or synths.
The installation is an interactive work, playful and joyful, where people of all ages can interact with the bar, each experience lasting the length of just one song!
The Working Boys Club was founded in 2020 by identical twins, Jason and Adam. Both started in the trades, Jason as an electrician, Adam as a car mechanic. Noticing the lack of art made by, and for, working class people, they formed The Working Boys Club, blending their skills from the building site with those learned in the rehearsal room.
Commissioned and produced by Activate Performing Arts, with funding from Arts Council England.
