Cards On The Table
Cards on the Table is a playful walkabout performance by artist Erin Hughes, performed by Future of Fauna. Inspired by magic, illusion, and the decorative histories of pietra dura tabletops, the work transforms a wandering card table into a living character.
Drawing on Hughes’ collaboration with her magician brother and her practice of creating intricate collages from hand-marbled paper, the performance explores the connections between art and deception, chance and choice.
Through encounters, conversation, and moments of wonder, audiences are invited into a world where objects come to life and the boundaries between reality and make-believe become delightfully uncertain.
