Dungarvan Bay is our team’s destination during this year’s West Waterford Food Festival.
The artists are researching the bay’s rich heritage, it’s biodiversity, and it’s oyster growing tradition. Spraoi is exploring a new project, provisionally titled Between Land and Sea. It will unfold over the next twelve months, will involve community participation, and will be presented during West Waterford Food Festival 2025.
This project is partnered by Creative Ireland, Creative Waterford, and led by CALMAST at SETU.
Ireland’s premiere summer street spectacle event The Spraoi Parade takes place at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday August 4th, 2024. Join thousands of spectators as spectacular floats, hundreds of costumed performers, live musicians, light, sound, and special effects weave through Waterford’s medieval streets at night. The parade is a magical imaginative feast of the senses that climaxes the annual festival. A spectacular finale of fireworks launched from the River Suir at the quays follows the parade.
The theme of this year’s parade will be announced in June. For now put this free spectacle in your phone. The Spraoi Parade is a must-see summer event in Ireland.
For three days each summer Waterford City hosts a spectacular summer street party.
The city’s medieval streets, squares, and quays create atmospheric performance spaces for audiences of all ages to be entertained and energised by hundreds of performers from around the world. Welcome our wonderful acts!

This is the home of Waterford Crystal, Medieval Museums, and an array of great pubs, cafes, and restaurants. Just short drives from the city are seaside gems like Tramore and Dunmore East. Of course there is also Waterford Greenway, starting in the city. Spraoi is a fantastic family festival, and there is lots more to do while you are here.
